The name REW refers to the rewind button that many people remember from the days of cassette and VHS players. The primary function of the REW button—to rewind—fits well with the collaborative project of
Benni B-Ruff and Kjartan Trauner, but the project goes beyond that. It works with audio and visual material from the golden years of the “nineties,” delving into the past while at the same time seeking to create new connections to the present day.

REW has been in development for several years and has, during that time, opened for artists such as

DJ Shadow, Talib Kweli, and The Pharcyde.
