The Extreme Chill Festival will take place in Reykjavík from September 2-6, marking the 17th year of the festival.

This year, a large number of artists will perform at the festival, bringing together a diverse lineup—from experimental musicians to classical artists—including:

The festival will be held at several different venues in downtown Reykjavík, including Gamla Bíó, Iðnó, Tjarnarbíó, Space Odyssey, and others.

Extreme Chill has become one of Iceland’s longest-running music festivals, having operated continuously for the past 16 years. The festival has attracted considerable international attention and has established itself as an important part of Iceland’s music scene, distinguished by its focus on experimental, electronic, and ambient music.

The festival and its surrounding activities have led to numerous releases, concerts, international tours, and collaborations with both Icelandic and foreign artists—not to mention unforgettable performances at festivals both in Iceland and abroad that trace their roots directly back to Extreme Chill.
